Project Overview
A new Japanese restaurant was preparing to open its doors in Toronto and needed a complete digital and brand presence to match its vision. With no existing brand assets or online identity, the challenge was to build a cohesive design language that reflected the restaurant’s modern take on Japanese cuisine while making it easy for guests to discover, explore, and reserve.
What We Did
We partnered with the founders from day one to craft both the brand identity and the website. Our work began with establishing a design style—minimalist, elegant, and rooted in Japanese aesthetics—that carried seamlessly across digital and physical touchpoints. From logo and typography to color palette and photography direction, we built the foundation of the restaurant’s brand.
On the website side, we designed and developed a fast, mobile-first platform that tells the story of the restaurant while focusing on usability. The site integrates reservation tools, showcases the seasonal menu, and introduces the chefs’ philosophy through refined copy and visuals. Every page was designed to balance functionality with a sense of atmosphere.
User Journey Design
The journey was crafted to mirror the anticipation and intimacy of dining in the space:
Introduction: A visually striking homepage communicates the restaurant’s brand story and creates instant intrigue.
Exploration: Guests can easily browse the menu, learn about the sourcing philosophy, and explore photography that captures the dining experience.
Conversion: Integrated reservation functionality ensures bookings are fast and effortless, whether on desktop or mobile.
Engagement: Newsletter sign-ups, event announcements, and seasonal updates build long-term connections with guests.
